hi dr. t., great show! i’d emailed you a recording of a few questions, did you get the file? i live in a time zone that makes calling in live quite tough, but i would love to participate via pre-recorded questions if possible.

      Hi anon-father,

We had several technical glitches last night, including my landline phone modem crashing. Murphy’s Law! Of course, the landline crashed during the first episode. Nevertheless, it was a mini-panic moment. Ended up using my cell, which has dubious reception at best.

At that point, I did my best to get to as many calls as I could. Also, there were three of us manning the control panel and there was confusion about who was queuing up certain segments, which is an easy fix for next week.

There’s always a learning curve the first time one uses new media, so I hope to be up to speed in short order.

We also had a lot of live callers last night, which was fantastic. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get everyone on air, which is another skill I need to learn — keeping the calls moving and managing the time better. I hope to include some of your questions next week. Thank you for sending them.

If anyone else has time zone or availability issues and would like to submit questions via an audio file, please email them to me ahead of show night.

      Best,
      Dr T

hey dr. t, the technical glitches were quite minimal. your cell phone barely cut out if at all. i listened to every minute of the show with deep gratitude.

i did fast forwarded through the music though…

it’s a big challenge to take live calls like that, and you really did great. you listened very well and gave each caller empathic and appropriate attention, while moving on when things went long. i’ve had some experience in broadcasting, and well, you could a fooled me with your level of professionalism on the air. what i mean is: you really did great, so, in my opinion, you could just settle in and focus on the topics you wish to cover. there is not a squawk of even constructive criticism i have for your show and on air persona. not a squeak, peep, or whizzle. pros sometimes have a harder time handling tech difficulties like that, and so what, there was a bit of “dead air” big deal, you guys did a great great job.

I would love to see a show dedicated to the signs to look for when dating women/men who turn out to have a HCP or some other personality disorder. That to me would be extremely helpful!

At the same time, it would be great to have a show that talks about looking for signs of normal women/men that people should snatch up! ;)

Great first show! Can’t wait to tune into the next show.

I agree that it was a great show and that these topics would be great to see in a future show. I know there are great women out there, but that is hard to see when your soon to be ex-wife has a PD or two, and surrounds herself with friends that are eerily similar and that is all I have been around for 8 years…Scary. Looking at the statistics by age group PD’s are increasing in women. I have hope at only 26,and I truly believe that I will be able to recognize the signs now but it would be nice to have a show on the signs to look for.

      • Dr Tara J. Palmatier

        Hi CRenAeZY,

Will do. Knowing the signs is very important. Although, sometimes these types are very practiced, natural actresses and actors. Know the signs is important. However, equally important, is your ability to end any relationship or involvement after the mask slips instead of rationalizing or justifying the Crazy.

Great suggestions, thatguy. Will add your ideas to my topic list. Thank you!

      Hi justin_case,

Thank you for that. Am very glad to read that you’re doing well and on the mend. That is wonderful and I’m happy for you!

  4. It was a great first show Dr. T regardless of the bugs which will get worked out. Have you thought of a cohost or special guests? I really enjoy the discussion and I’ll call in to thank you in the future.

Did you know that you’re at the top of the most popular at blogtalkradio?

Thanks, Denis. Am waiting for the first guest I’ve asked to join me to confirm the dates. Also, I am considering a co-host, but need to make sure it’s a good fit before doing so.

      Most popular, eh?

That could be good or bad depending on who the listeners are. Apparently, there are quite a few people out there who just loooooove to hate me. You know, what a monster I am, what with me wanting men, women and children to live lives as free from abuse as possible, wanting true gender equality and social justice and wanting people to take personal responsibility for themselves. Don’t you know I must be stopped? ;)

Just a note here to say 1. Thanks to Dr. T for the effort it takes to do this show. It looks a lot easier from the outside. and 2. The tech problems with the first show fall squarely in my lap. In hindsight there were several things I should have anticipated and covered before we went live. and 3. It was a great show anyway.

I am really excited about the possibilities. There is a huge need for this kind of programming, both for men that are affected by PD women, and for the women that those men bring into their lives after ending an unhealthy relationship and moving on to something better. After all, we know that PD is a gift that keeps on giving.

My guess is that maybe a year from now, with 50 or shows under her belt, or sooner, some media exec is going to get a link to one of her shows and POW, Dr. T, prime time monster. And I mean monster in the best possible way.

You are going to kill it, Dr. T, and I mean that in the best way as well.
